PASCO Fresh Map (PFM) is a GIS map database that comes in ESRI's shapefile (.shp) spatial data format, the standard GIS format.
GIS map data (background map) has received the support of many customers, who appraise it highly for being easy to view and read.
The series is a four-product lineup made up of the 2D wide-area map PFM25000 that covers the whole of Japan on a scale of 1/25,000, PFM25000-P that comes with census survey data, PFM25000-SD that is the simplified version of PFM25000, and the 2D detailed map PFM2500 that covers the towns and streets of all the main cities in the country on a scale of 1/2,500.
Characteristics
- Maps are updated once a year, around the fall season (September to October).
- Changes to administrative names and company names as of 1 April every year are added based on the information collected by October the year before.
- Customers may select from the options of Japan geodetic system or world geodetic system when purchasing the product.
- The data format is ESRI's shapefile format.
- It is possible to use the "GeoAccess Service," which provides GIS functions, on customers' internal systems.
