Our Town Guide

"Our Town Guide" is an ASP-format map information service for residents designed to be used on local government websites.

Features

ASP format means no procurement of special devices and equipment is necessary. Our service greatly reduces the cost required to build your system, and makes operation and maintenance more efficient with much less effort. Many local governments have already taken advantage of our service to provide map information to the public.

Wide range of menus available

To answer to your needs, the service includes a wide range of menu options, which include a Map Portal Page, Public Facilities Guide, Electronic Map Guide, Urban Planning Information, Constructions Information, Map Questionnaire, and so on. It also comes with two website management functions: Registered Information Management function and User Management function. There is also an option for distributing information to mobile phones (compatible with 3 mobile phone service providers).

System designed for residents

With target users being the general public, we have removed all confusing menu buttons and complicated steps typical of WebGIS, so that it is extremely easy to use. In addition, the system also accommodates various computer environments by not requiring browser plugins and greatly reducing file sizes.

Detailed background maps

Our Town Guide makes it possible for you to provide a detailed map of Japan. The background geographical map can be zoomed to 1/2500 precision on urban areas and 1/25000 on suburban areas. The maps can be smoothly zoomed in/out and scrolled without any increment restrictions to display the optimized map at whatever scale selected, making it possible to provide extremely easy-to-read maps.

Perfect synergy with comprehensive GIS

With security considered, Our Town Guide is a system that can be combined with other information systems, such as making the information created under the comprehensive GIS available for public access and registering collected information that is disclosed to the public. Digital mapping data can also be used as background maps, making it possible to distribute map information to match the topographic map (with urban planning information, etc.) where accuracy is required. The system makes it easy to provide public access to existing GIS data.

Reassurance and security

PASCO takes responsibility to handle your important data and system with great care. The information provided comes from our ASP data center that has system surveillance 24 hours around the clock and all year round. All equipment comes with redundant configuration to guarantee continuous operation. The center is also protected by several barriers of security, while facilities are earthquake/fire/intrusion-proof, comes equipped with air conditioning and uninterrupted power supply, and has a call center to handle any emergency calls even on weekends, public holidays or during nighttime.

Greatly reducing costs for building and running your system

Because there is no need for you to procure any equipment and software, conduct system development, or purchase any license for using background maps, our service can help you save a lot of money to build your system. When you use our service, we will customize your website by using existing menus and accommodating your requests. As you do not need to procure your own equipment for running the system, you will save a large amount of running costs normally required for leasing and maintaining the equipment, manned operation, and so on. In particular, as your website is expected to be accessible 24 hours around the clock, we also provide nighttime and holiday assistance for any system trouble to greatly save labor on your side.
