Collecting and analyzing Geospatial Information on a global scale
PASCO Group collects and analyzes geospatial information globally. The results are used to create maps, in academic research, and in enhancing homeland security. There are many ways of collecting geospatial information, and information is gathered from all angles - through satellites, aircrafts, land vehicles, and ships.
The earth observation satellites orbit around the earth in approximately two hours (depending on altitude) at an altitude of more than 500km above the earth. Taking advantage of this agility, PASCO undertakes activities such as monitoring the global environment and collecting information during times of disaster, and puts its best efforts into collecting geospatial information promptly.
Aircraft come next in line after satellites with regard to mobility. PASCO Group owns a large number of special aircraft that can be equipped with measuring and survey equipment. Equipment such as sensors protrudes from the lower torso of the special aircraft, and a large hole has been opened here to facilitate the imaging of ground surfaces from this point.
Special vehicles are used for measuring and obtaining information on the surroundings as they travel on the roads. They can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as collecting three-dimensional information from the areas around the roads and measuring road surfaces. PASCO's special vehicles are constantly utilized to collect information as they travel on the roads, such as in crack and rut surveys aimed at keeping drives comfortable, as well as creating precise maps for road management.
PASCO possesses measuring equipment not only aimed at capturing information on land, but also information under water. The equipment is also used for drawing up dredging plans for dams and harbors.
The geospatial information collected through various means undergoes a high level of analysis (dissecting). PASCO owns two ground stations equipped with parabolic antennas that receive information from the earth observation satellites. It has also set up analysis bases to conduct advanced analysis of the information received, and is striving to accelerate collecting and processing of information.
